Beyond Madness (60 Sites, 197 Hits) 12/31/1996 alicorna
Beyond Madness, created in 1996, is a ring dedicated to bringing together web sites dealing with any type of mental illness and mental health in general. This includes, but is not limited to, sites concerning depression, bipolar disorder, anxiety, panic disorder, mania, personality disorders, eating disorders, schizophrenia, PTSD, and adult attention deficit disorder.

It is the hope of the ring manager that this ring will provide healing, resources, and a sense of community to those who are affected by these illnesses.

The image used for the ring logo is "Insanity" by Władysław Podkowiński (1866-1895).

Pretty On The Inside (14 Sites, 52 Hits) 11/04/2003 okieshadow

A Web-Ring for the kids, (and adults who were those kids once) who never learned how to live, never fit in, out cast, couldnt find our place in the sun, felt there wasnt any place on earth for us, sometimes bullied, often loners on into adulthood, just needed to be listened to and understood. And our lives turned into dealing with eating disorders, self-injury, mental illnesses, and rejection. We tried to fit in somewhere but just never fit in. As in younger days, perhaps into adult hood dealing with abuse, addiction and bullying. The darker side of life. Our Reality.

Mental Health  (13 Sites, 20 Hits) 05/19/2001 genessa

Mental health issues, even in today, are still treated by doctors, insurance companies and society in general as being less important (and less treatable) than physical health. We tend to give up on the mentally ill (which term, by the way, does NOT necessarily mean "crazy". depression, for example, is also a mental illness).  Find in this ring sites offering information and support for those of us who are struggling with self-injury, depression, borderline personality disorder, anorexia, bipolar disorder and other mental illnesses, as well as for those who want to maintain their mental health, and those who are involved with those whose mental health is in peril.  This ring's illustration is a self-portrait by Peruvian photographer Amparo Torres and its use here does not imply anything whatsoever about the artist's mental health (the ring manager just thinks it's a cool picture which somehow evokes the precariousness of human mental health).
