The Anti-Capitalist Webring (65 Sites, 13 Hits) 06/12/2001 lilithezine
Corporate Crime, dirty greedy politicians, insider trading, sweatshops in 3rd world countries using child/slave labour, oil cartels, Enron, wars for oil, these are all signs that capitalism doesn't work as well as some people think it does. In order for any society to be prosperous and stable, they need a mixture of capitalism, socialism and communism. If any one of those three is too powerful, the system will eventually collapse. We NEED communism and socialism in order to give society stability, but we also need capitalism in order for people to be motivated. What we DON'T need is fat cats who sell out hardworking people and move their factory to another country where sweatshop labour is cheap. Sweatshops take advantage of their workers, usually women, and deprive them of their civil rights. Sites in this ring must also have have an anti-oppression message. Feminism, activism, disability activism, & anti-racism are some of the topics that can be covered. Sites fighting misogyny, racism and classism are encouraged.

...China... (20 Sites, 3 Hits) 07/12/2005 lilithezine
The Mandarin (pu-tong-hwa) word for China is "Zhong Guo", which means "Centre Land" or "Centre of the World". China truly is the centre of the world. In the 21st Century China will rise to become the first truly powerful MEGAPOWER, leaving superpowers like United States, Russia and the EU in their dust. With a booming economy, a strong work ethic, and a government that has set its goals higher than any other nation, China is leaving other countries in their dust. The United States is in DEBT to China. Chinese is the world's most popular language. 24% of the world speaks Chinese. (Spanish is 5.5% and English is 4.8%.) Isn't it time you started learning Chinese? It is already more important than english as a language of business. - - - We should never forget the horrific events of Tiananmen Square.
