Sharon Ann Lane Foundation Clinic is being constructed in memory of Sharon, an Army Nurse who was killed while on duty at the 312th Evac Hospital in Chu Lai on June 8, 1969.
The Clinic is located near the former 312th Evac and will soon be dedicated to the children of Vietnam.

Sharon Ann Lane was born on July 7, 1943 in Zanesville, Ohio. The family moved to Canton, Ohio where Sharon attended Canton South High School and was graduated in 1961. Sharon pursued her desire to become a Nurse in 1962 by undertaking her studies at Aultman Hospital School of Nursing in Canton, Ohio and completing her program in 1965. Following clinical practice as a Staff Nurse, she embraced a new and demanding challenge in 1968, motivated by her passion for Nursing, love of her Country and the escalating Vietnam War, when she entered the Army nurse Corps. As a young 2LT her first assignment was U.S. Army Fitzsimons General Hospital, Denver, Colorado. On April 26, 1969, Sharon was ordered to the 312th Evacuation Hospital in Chu Lai, Vietnam. Nursing in the Vietnamese Ward 4 was extremely challenging and often very difficult, yet Sharon thrived both professionally and personally and repeatedly declined transfer to another Ward. Never cowed by the suffering and constant dangers in which she lived and worked, Sharon followed her love of Nursing even in her off duty hours by volunteering to Nurse the most critically injured American GIs in the Surgical ICU.
